Las Vegas to Host NBA All- Star Game in 2007
Las Vegas, the city with the best casinos in the world, may soon become the city with the best professional sports teams as well.
The groundwork for the best casinos city to become the best sports city has already been laid. The NBA has just announced that Las Vegas is to host the basketball league’s 56th All- Star Game in 2007.
The flamboyant mayor of the city with all the best casinos in the world, Oscar Goodman, brokered the deal personally with NBA Commissioner David Stern. Stern said that he was pleased with the arrangement. “I recognize its wonderful attributes in terms of entertaining visitors,” he said of the best casinos- filled city.
One of the NBA Commissioner’s conditions for choosing Las Vegas to host his league’s game was no casino in this town full of the world’s best casinos would be allowed to take bets on the games.
Many sports experts say that the All- Star game serves as a premonition of more sports coming to Las Vegas on a more permanent basis. In fact, there is talk of the city hosting a team, since many teams have approached Mayor Goodman about the possibility of relocating to Las Vegas.
